I have to say that I enjoyed demet's podcast very much. You gave a detailed information from beginning to the end to help listener understand what the podcast is all about. The name of the school, tools requirement, grades and goals were very clear. I also noticed that you did not drag on the closing music, it ended very appropriately showing a good design. Thanks for you professional touch.

Demet,

One Language Arts class in our high school had blogs at the end of the last school year. I don't remember the novel used but each student was assigned a character in the book. They were then required to make several blogs from that characters point of view. The students enjoyed the assignment and the amount of blogs and comments were much higher than expected. The instructor also told me that she felt this group of students understood the novel better than any other class she taught. I think this could definitely work well. - Michael

Hi Demet,

I like your blog and wiki ideas on a language art class. The language learning tends to practice in listening, writing, speaking and reading when students learn either their home tongue or a foreign language. The blogs or wikis could provide a virtual environment in which students and teachers may share a few types of documents such as texts, audio and video files. Students may use those web resources at their favorite learning paces.

The question is what is an effective way to use blogs and wikis in a class? Let’s suppose there are twenty students in a class. Everyone writes a blog and share with others. Students may have to spend time on watching and evaluating others’ similar works and be lost by the blogs’ irrelevant information. How should a teacher do to organize the class’s web resources to improve the learning?

But that's just my 2 cents. --Lifang
