Records of Activity for the week (17-24 Sep)
I went to the Liberty High School Freshmen Campus, today. I had a meeting with the English teacher, Joyce Bogusky. She said that she is planning to use GarageBand for her 9th grade Language Arts class. We decided that it would be good to go over GarageBand before she assigns the students the technology initiative project. So, I will go the school again next Friday. Today, Ms. Bogusky also introduced me to the technology coordinator of the school, too.
I brought the printed document of our assignment with me to the school, too. The teacher and I went through the point on our assignment. We said that we will have some of the answers of the assignment along the way of implementing this technology initiative. She provided me the 9th grade Academic Thematic Unit Curriculum Guide that both Liberty and Freedom High Schools will be using, so that I can learn about the objectives on what we will be working on.

Record of activity for the week (10-17 Sept)
I sent an e-mail to one of the Language Art teachers at Liberty High School on last Wednesday. Her name is Joyce Bogusky. I know her form BASD teachnology implementation project. I kindly asked her to allow me to do my project with her and I offered my assistance in her technology initiatives. She sent me a reply saying that she is honored to have me to assist her in technology projects. Then, I again sent an e-mail and said that I wanted to meet her some time next week to talk about her plans for this semester and to inform her about my assignment. I am waiting for her reply, now. We could not establish a topic, instructional objectives or assessments, yet, but I am hoping we will do it when we meet.
In the meantime, I also asked her if she knows any Math teacher at Liberty that would be willing to take one of our friends for this project. I kindly asked her to suggest a Math teacher to us, so that we can contact him or her. When I recieve an e-mail from her, I think she will respond to that question, too. I will let the class know.

Access to K-12 classroom
I don’t have access to a K-12 classroom. Therefore, I need to get help in my replacement. I would like to work in Bethlehem area high schools, since I am fimiliar with the Language Arts teachers of Liberty and Freedom High Schools. However, if that is not possible, I am open to other suggestions.
Brainstorming
I am hoping to use blogs and wikkis in Language Art classrooms. I believe that these technological tools are very effective in students learning and self expression. The fact that blogs and wikkis are easy to use and applicable to any topic and subject area is one of the reasons that I would like to use it in the schools. I think if blogs and wikkis are the case, the teachers do not have to adjust their topic of the week or the day just to use technology in the classrooms. Any subject area can use blogs and wikkis for any class and the kids love using them. I believe that it would also be interesting to look at the social learning aspect of blogs and wikkis. Students interactions outside the class and their reflections on each others’ thoughts on wikkis and blogs would be worth looking into.
